About A Woman's Touch Painting

I have been a painter for 35 years now. I didn't start out wanting to be a painter, though. I went all throughout high school desiring to be an RN. I graduated high school and immediately began my college career geared for nursing. About one year in, I just didn't feel like it was me.

I took a break from college and started helping my father, who was a seasoned, veteran painter, and just fell in love with painting. It was strange — I always felt females didn't belong out here getting sweaty and dirty, but somehow it just felt right. I didn't mind it. I think maybe I was just enjoying working alongside my father and contributing to his business.

I ventured off many times, taking a break from painting. I went into accounting and a couple other ventures, but I always came back to painting. I accepted it. It was my passion for helping people make good color choices and just seeing a job well done. It was very satisfying and brought so much pleasure to my life, seeing others so happy with what we had done, that I could not keep denying it.

I am a painter's daughter, and I love what I do. It's part of who I am and always will be. It is funny how man (or woman) plans, and God laughs and says "watch this." But His plan will always be better than mine or yours — so here I am, having been a painter that has never drank, nor smoked, nor done any drugs, which is rare in the painting industry, and loving every minute of it.

I am very particular about how I like a job done. It has to be clean and methodical throughout the process, start to finish. I believe in superb customer service, before and after the sale. That's how we get future jobs.
