Question 1

Is color consultation included with painting services?

Accepted Answer

Yes, custom color guidance is complimentary with every full painting project contract!

Question 2

Can you fix drywall holes before painting?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we handle minor sheetrock repair, nail pops, door handle impacts, and seam crack repair as standard prep.

Question 3

Will the repaired drywall patch show through the paint?

Accepted Answer

No, we prime all drywall compound patches with stain-blocking primers so sheen and texture remain completely uniform. Our process includes applying a skimming coat of joint compound, sanding it perfectly flush with the surrounding wall, applying texture matching — whether your walls are knockdown, orange peel, or smooth — and then priming with a high-quality stain-blocking primer. This primer seals the porous compound and prevents the patched area from absorbing paint differently than the rest of the wall. The result is a completely invisible repair where no flash, halo, or texture mismatch is detectable under any lighting condition.

Question 4

How do you help choose colors for open-concept living spaces?

Accepted Answer

Open-concept floor plans require a thoughtful, holistic approach because colors visible from multiple rooms must flow harmoniously. Our team evaluates your entire sightline — from kitchen through dining to living areas — and creates a palette where each color shares a common undertone, whether warm, cool, or neutral. We typically recommend a primary wall color that carries through the main spaces, with accent colors used strategically on specific walls or architectural features to define zones without creating jarring transitions. We also factor in your flooring, cabinetry, countertop tones, and natural light direction at different times of day to ensure every color reads beautifully from every angle of your open floor plan.

Question 5

Can you match texture on existing walls after drywall repair?

Accepted Answer

Yes, texture matching is one of our specialties. Whether your walls have knockdown, orange peel, skip-trowel, popcorn, or smooth finish, we replicate the exact texture using specialized tools and techniques. For knockdown, we apply joint compound and flatten it with a knife at the same angle and pressure as the original. For orange peel, we use a spray hopper adjusted to match the splatter pattern and droplet size. For smooth walls, we skim coat and sand to a glass-smooth finish. Once the texture is matched and primed, the repair becomes completely invisible — even professional inspectors cannot tell where the patch was applied.

Question 6

What is Light Reflectance Value (LRV) and why does it matter for paint color?

Accepted Answer

LRV is a measurement from 0 to 100 that indicates how much light a paint color reflects — 0 being absolute black and 100 being pure white. LRV is critical because it determines how bright or dark a room will feel, how colors interact with adjacent walls, and whether a color will wash out or feel heavy in your specific lighting. A color with high LRV (70+) bounces light around a room, making it feel larger and airier — ideal for small or north-facing rooms. Lower LRV colors (30-50) create coziness and drama but absorb more light. Our team uses LRV as a key factor in our color guidance to ensure every room achieves the mood and brightness you desire.
